1930 ATMOS Modell PO1 Clock
The clock is a dream original dial original chrome small chip in the dome as pictured.
Rectangular, chromed base, the ends curving downwards to form the feet, polished black marble base, original glass dome. Silver with painted radial black Roman numerals. M. Cal. 30''' chrome, vacuum chamber with rotating drum driven by mercury in glass expansion device winding the going barrel by a blued steel spring and ratchet,
lever escapement is driven by tension pendulum, locking lever in the base below the pendulum. ,
case numbered 5390 movement 3542 applied plaque inscribed “Brevets J.L. Reutter S.G.D.G”. Dim. height 24 cm., width 35 cm., depth 16 cm
Invented by Jean-Léon Reutter in 1928, the Atmos clock is an exceptional fusion of technical knowledge and utility, it requires no mechanical or electrical intervention to keep time, but instead, it uses the slightest changes in atmosphere to power its perpetual motion. The invention continues to be a success story and the clocks are still produced by Jaeger-LeCoultre in the Valée de Joux.
